Panthers

Some panthers have come to stay. None for ages then two come a long at once. They’re from Next steps cat rescue Shropshire.

2025-04-11: interview with the panthers

Went to meet the panthers.

Teddy, henceforth fluffy Edward is fluffy and is being pimped out for adoption.

Likes to be brushed but gave me a wallop.

The other panther is called blf or something stupid like that and it seems to be fair game to change, so he’s going to be KD Panther I think that KD sounds cool and Californian and trendy lesbian but in fact it stans for kidney disease — like me.

First impressions: that’s more than I thought that I was signing up for. I think it’ll be good for them to get a normal house rather than just a room; to de-stress and get clean.
I was there for less than an hour but the noise and tension of the humans there had me irritated.

2025-04-12: the panthers arrived

Don’t know where I’m going to put four litter boxes. They’re exploring the house nervously.

They seem somewhat inelegant compared to the cat we had.

KDPanther has been sitting in the living room steadily moving closer to me and eventually sitting on me. Now he’s continued exploring and has found a sunny patch to sit in.

FluffyEdward has gone to sit on the stairs and doesn’t want touching.

2024-04-25: settling in

They do not get on. This is about as close as they get without fighting.

But it’s not clear exactly what the problem is.

FluffyEdward has found some more places to sit, but doesn’t seek attention. It’s safer to brush him rather than attempt to stroke him, although that can be dangerous too. I’ve bought a metal comb for him that seems to work well.

FluffyEdward hops that Worf will take good care of Spot.

KDPanther helps at work; his bum types lots but it doesn’t compile.

Feets!
